About the proprietor

The proprietor, Nell Payne MSc (Oxon) AICB CB.Cert, is a qualified Bookkeeper and an Associate Member of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB) (see below).

My practice licence is regulated by the ICB and I am fully insured. I have more than 10 years experience in various types of accounts using a variety of software including Sage, Quickbooks, Kashflow and Microsoft Access databases and various spreadsheet packages including Microsoft Excel. I can also work with other accounting software packages as required.

I have experience in designing and providing technical back up for Microsoft Access databases. Such databases can be customised for various data management purposes such as stock control, managing contacts, membership and technical data entry, storage and processing. 

Before moving into databases and bookkeeping, I spent several years overseeing forestry projects in Botswana, Ghana, Malaysia and South Africa and have also worked as a fundraiser and project manager for the Oxford Forestry Institute (OFI) and for the Global Canopy Programme (GCP), an international conservation charity.  I am an honorary fellow of the Commonwealth Forestry Association (CFA), a charity, and have helped them manage their accounts and membership since 1996.

The Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB) is the largest bookkeeping institute in the world. The Institute promotes and maintains the standards of bookkeeping as a profession, through the establishment of a series of relevant qualifications and the award of grades of membership that recognise academic attainment, working experience and competence.
